I design

delightful experiences for everyone.

As Experience Design Director, I set the design vision, lead the product strategy, experience design effort, and guide the implementation across all types of platforms.

Experience Design Director and Co-Founder at Avela Experience Design Firm in Seattle.

Elevating user experiences to improve people's quality of life.

As a Design Director at Avela Experience Design, I bring over 8 years of expertise in developing end-to-end user experiences and digital product designs across healthcare digital solutions, SaaS technologies, and medical device development. With a focus on user-centered design strategy and elegant interactive design, I strive to elevate user experiences and improve people's quality of life around the world through healthcare digital innovation.

My core values include providing equal access to information and digital experiences for all people. I balance my work with community outreach projects which contribute to my vision as an empathetic designer. My experiences working at a pharmacy during pre-medical studies and volunteering at the American Cancer Society inspire me to creatively integrate empathy into technology to help improve people's quality of life.

In my free time, I enjoy researching new emerging technologies related to interactive media which guides my creative endeavor. Documenting design processes is an important part of my work, as human-centered design is a creative process in itself. In my work, I seek to create accessible designs that incorporate empathy while applying human-centered principles and increase the adoption of high-value technologies.

Design vision and the product experience

Over the years I have worked and led design efforts for clients at Philips Healthcare, Microsoft, Pfizer, and Avela Design defining the future state of existing products and envisioning and designing completely new product experiences improving quality of life with an impact touching the lives of over 3+ million people.

In 2021, I led extensive cross-functional collaboration with senior leaders, product management, R&D, marketing, engineers, and clinical affairs to launch multiple cloud-based emergency care applications and patient care solutions, achieving a 30% improvement in user satisfaction and a 25% reduction in development time.

Accessible and scalable design systems.

I collaborate with companies at every step of the process, from concept ideation to design, testing and launching enterprise design systems.

During 2019, I worked as a UX Designer leading the accessibility remediation of Microsoft design systems, where I guided a team of designers to establish the visual direction and UI design patterns for the new Microsoft Design Systems 2.0 that launched in June 2019.
